How to Apply for a Course

Before applying for a course, please ensure that you are signed in. Every course applicant must be registered as an individual user on the portal using their own email address.

If you are not currently a user, you can sign up here.

You can find a list of all our future courses by clicking on the ‘Upcoming Courses’ tab, there is also the option to filter the list by job role. (If you are a manager and are looking for a course for one of your staff members, you will need to select the staff member from the drop down menu at the top of the page.)

For more details on a course and/or to apply, hover and click on the course listing. To apply, simply click on the blue ‘Apply for this Course’ button and follow the instructions.

An email confirming the result of your application will be emailed to yourself, and if your organisation is funding your place, a copy will be sent to your line manager too.

Why does the cost sometimes differ for the same Course?

Firstly, we are a non-profit making organisation, so our courses vary in cost depending on venue costs and on the trainer’s mileage.

Secondly, some courses are subsidised for particular groups, for instance members of a particular CCG. Where this is the case, the course cost for individuals working within that CCG may be lower because their CCG has already contributed a certain amount of money towards their course place.

How do I pay for the course?

You can pay for a course yourself, or your organisation may pay for it (with their agreement). Just select the relevant option at the time of booking.

Invoices are sent out after the course has taken place. These can be paid via bank transfer, via credit/debit card over the phone, or by cheque.

How our Waiting List works

You will notice that some courses are funded for specific regions or CCGs, details of this will be shown in the ‘Restrictions’ tab in the course details. Where this is the case, priority will be given to applicants from this region or CCG. If you do not work within the specified area, you can still apply for the course and will be allocated a place on the waiting list. Six weeks prior to the course, if it is not fully subscribed, places will be allocated to applicants on this waiting list on a first come first served basis.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel with more than 5 working days notice, there will be no charge. All cancellations will only be accepted via the booking system or email, we are unable to accept cancellations over the telephone. If you cancel within 5 working days and we cannot fill the space, then you/your organisation will still be charged. If you do not attend, then you/your organisation will be charged.

If you are leaving your organisation or you have a member of staff due to leave and you/they are booked onto a chargeable course with us, it is the organisations responsibility to inform PCDC of this. This is to ensure that you/they are removed from any chargeable course with more than 5 working days before the event date and therefore will not incur any costs. If you/they are removed within 5 working days of the chargeable course then the cost of the place will be chargeable to the organisation.

After the Course

Once you have attended a course, a copy of your Certificate of Attendance and any course handouts / presentations / supporting documents will be made available for you to access on the portal. Such documents will be available approximately one week after the course has taken place.
